I love questions! I think a lot about what questions will engage people, bring forth interesting stories, and create a strong bond between myself and the person I’m talking with. In this episode of Getting Work To Work, I’m going to dive into powerful storytelling questions, how tension is a path to enlightening stories, and why listening transforms the overall interview experience for everyone involved.
Six Types of Powerful Storytelling Questions:
- Questions designed to bring forth stories.
- What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
- Why did you stop?
- How did you get involved in what you do?
- Who are your heroes? How do your heroes show up in your work?
- Questions of struggle, overcoming odds, and transformation.
- What struggle are you immersed in currently?
- What is a creative block you are facing?
- What’s something you’ve learned about money that you wish you could tell your past self about?
