Of the many books I’m reading right now, two of them are locked in a cage match, battling inside my mind over the topic of courage. That’s right, courage. One view posits that courage is deeply connected to passion and is potentially dangerous. The other view is that courage is absolutely necessary to make any impact on the world whatsoever. In this episode of Getting Work To Work, I’m going to explore these two views of courage, share how I think they are more connected than the authors probably realize, and what I think the highway to the courage zone looks like.
The Courage Zone is:
- The area just beyond your comfort zone.
- Admitting that fear is keeping you stuck.
- Searching for solutions.
- Building up your strengths.
- Experimenting with possibilities.
- Developing connections with others.
- Commitment to mastering your craft.
- Breaking through stagnation with deliberate practice.
