Get Out of Your Head (GWTW385)

If there is one subject that will always pique my curiosity, it’s how the mind works. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time trapped in my mind. I’ve been thinking about projects, writing and rewriting emails, obsessing over an upcoming trip, struggling with imposter syndrome, and the usual dose of uncertainty, stress, and anxiety that comes with working for yourself. The interesting thing is that the more I stay in my mind, the more I feel my body responding in unhealthy ways. But how do you get out of your mind? For me, it was a friend changing the tone of our conversation at a pivotal moment. For you, it might be this episode of Getting Work To Work.

Quotes Referenced in this Episode:

From Fierce Conversations: Achieving Success at Work and in Life One Conversation at a Time by Susan Scott:

Susan Scott quoting Ray Bradbury: “Go to the edge of the cliff and jump off. Build your wings on the way down” (p. 89)
