What reaction does your work give you? Do you get excited as the vision in your mind becomes a reality? Perhaps you push aside your personal satisfaction in exchange for feedback and client approval? In this episode of Getting Work To Work, I am going to share a quote that I heard recently in the documentary Score: A Film Music Documentary that has me thinking twice about how I respond to the work I do not only for myself, but for clients.
Tom Holkenborg, Junkie XL: “If I make a track, it has to give me goosebumps myself. I don’t say that to be arrogant, but if it doesn’t hit me in the stomach as being a great piece of music, I cannot expect the audience, anybody out there, to have a feeling that it hits the stomach.”
Trevor Rabin: “If it gives me goosebumps, it’s pretty likely it will give someone else goosebumps because I think goosebumps come, for everyone, from similar places.”
